NABE NAMES BOARD MEMBERS AND SECRETARY
Dr. Pedro Ruiz and Dr. Sandra Pucci are the newest members of the NABE Executive
Board, replacing Silvana Carlos and Susan Pien Hsu, who resigned. Their appointments
are for two-year and one-year terms, respectively.
Ruiz, a school administrator in Mount Vernon, New York, is former president of
the New York State Association for Bilingual Education (NYSABE).
Pucci is associate professor of education at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
She also serves as president of the Wisconsin Association for Bilingual Education
(WIABE).
In addition, Dr. Josefina Tinajero, a current board member and former President
of NABE, has been elected Secretary. Tinajero is dean of education at the University
of Texas, El Paso.
